Shifting Gears is fast, loud, and up-tempo, with gorgeous melodies and fun, groovy beats. Z-TRIP’s modus operand is to simply get you to get up, to dance, to get you to party. Check out first ‘All About the Music’ feat. Whipper Whip & ‘The Get Down’ feat. Lyrics Born. Later, Z-TRIP’s darker side is revealed in ‘Walking Dead’ feat. Chester Bennington & ‘Shock and Awe’ feat. Chuck D. That’s right, the Chester Bennington from Linkin Park and the Chuck D. from Public Enemy.
Nowadays everybody tries to do what Z-TRIP originated, which is to take different types of music and creatively, artistically, meshing them into a new hyped sound that both savvy, sophisticated enthusiasts, and novice music fans alike, can feel.
Stepping-up his game, Z-TRIP is songwriting and producing, and created a revolutionary album that’s quality artistry and appealing to every audience. Shifting Gears, on the first listen, is a chaotic explosion of sounds, beats, scratches, and lyrics. With each listen thereafter, all the meticulous, scrupulous details of his vision begin to flourish. Clever scratch selections and placements, and content themes (including a meta-theme for the entire album) clearly reveal that Shifting Gears was truly a well thought out, fully mature, labor of love, not to mention the 1 _ years it took for clearing samples.
Every track is funky, innovative, emotional, and features amazing collaborations. This album is ridiculous. Get your shift together, and go get it. (Label website: hollywoodrecords.com) (Artist website: djztrip.com)
