MOVE YOUR BODY: ULTIMATE DANCE HITS (TIME LIFE) |
| |

Move Your Body is exactly what it is, man. Just
exactly. There's no mystery. If you like club music
with some trance tendencies, then there's no reason
you shouldn't get down to "Move Your Body: Ultimate
Dance Hits." I know I sound like one of those stupid
ad people, but whatever. I also know this is
bubblegum, candy cane, mindless club anthem stuff and
not as good as a really solid trance album, but that
doesn't remove this comp's sense of fun and energy.
Within the first three tracks you get a dance mix of
Sting's "Desert Rose" and the Thunderpuss Radio Mix of
Tamia's "Stranger in My House." Stick with it and you
even hit an Alice Deejay number - "Better Off Alone" -
toward the end of the disc. In short, this is a great
party disc. But I also think it's more than that.
Though it's not the best of its kind I've ever heard,
it is pretty good, and it has what I lament many
electronic dance albums' not having - listenability
beyond its use as background beats for a get-together.
You can kick on the headphones or jack it in your
car's CD player and just listen away. It ain't great,
but it's not bad! -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
