Discoheads, get ready to get lit cuz here dey are. Da
greatest from the disco era ... at least some of them.
There's no way a single disc could adequately
represent the genre or even pretend to be fully
comprehensive (hell, you'd have to fill half the disc
with the Bee Gees output to do that), but this is
still pretty inclusive for a single disc. Now, of
course, your opinion of disco is upon what hinges -
entirely - whether or not this CD is for you. I think
disco is fun but not particularly required in my
listening collection, so this wouldn't be high on my
list to run out and buy. But if you totally dig disco
but, for some reason, don't have all these (or you
want hits-together-on-one-disc convenience) or you're
a casual disco fan that wants some around for when the
mood strikes, then this will serve just fine. Chic,
Sister Sledge, Earth Wind & Fire, Average White Band,
Andre True Connection, KC and the Sunshine Band, Anita
Ward, Chaka Khan, Dionne Warwick (and more) are
represented here with such disco hits as "More More
More" (my fave here), "Ring My Bell," "We Are Family,"
"I Am Every Woman," "That's the Way (I Like It),"
"Boogie Wonderland" and "Disco Inferno" (and more) are
crammed onto this disc of dance how it used to be. It
doesn't plow the field deep but does skim the cream
off the top, so this comp calls out to your Travolta
moves. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
