CERRONE BY BOB SINCLAR (RECALL)

Really, if you want an answer to the question, "Will I like 'Cerrone by Bob Sinclar,' you should take the answer to this question: "Do I like disco?" Because to a large degree it boils down to that. Why? Because, to a large degree, this CD is good old disco. Sure, there are a few augmentations here on Sinclar's presentation of classic disco king Cerrone's music. "Striptease", "Love is the Answer", "Major Sea" and "Rollercoaster" get some touch-ups but mostly these are Cerrone classics as originally presented. The disc boasts classics like "Love in C Minor" and the magnificent "Supernature" and really shows off how disco was when it was great. Did the disco era turn out a lot of crap? Hell, yeah. But the genre as a whole shouldn't be condemned. There is some remarkably forward-thinking work on "Cerrone by Bob Sinclar" and you must remember that without folks like Cerrone, the dance scene you all relish today would not have come to pass. Energetic, tightly woven and often quite infectious, the songs on this CD recommend themselves to all lovers of dance.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
