"One+One" is all about texture and atmosphere. Taking a minimalist approach, this pair of DJs surrounds the listener with palpable ambience created by the sheer enveloping sensation that comes from the tangible presence generated by the structure of this audio construct. Beats and textures mingle in a scaled-back yet somehow aggressive (personality wise) spinal cord of crisp yet buzzing textures. This is a stripped down sound but the very act of stripping it down has generated a impressive atmosphere around the music. While this 2-disc set is lacking a bit in infectiousness - I could have used more hook - it's nonetheless imbued with a certain power and attention-getting ability via the assertive textures and overall ambience.
