ASHTECH - WALKIN' TARGET (SUB SIGNAL)

This is a moody, spacey place. The music is a bit of a far away trip. It's like being ensconced in a giant, wide-open area that's floating around in orbit somewhere. There's plenty of shadow and the music seems to spread out to fill the space. Which doesn't mean there are holes in the production. It's just music with lots of air that's supposed to have lots of air. Grooves feel around in the deeper places while dub reverberations send waves out at you at punctuational moments. It's not the most compelling piece of dub I've ever come across but the mood and strong chillout factor still make it worthwhile listening for dub fans. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
