Mostly, music is the creation of living things - i.e. artists. But sometimes, rarely, once in a blue moon - not very often, do you get my drift? Sometimes, just sometimes, music comes along that is alive. "The Seasons Unfold" is not the best chillout I've ever heard, nor is it my favorite, but nonetheless, I'm impressed by its quality. There's generic chill music and then there's the really good stuff by an artist who knows how to manipulate the elements at hand - everything from the electronica elements to the gorgeous vocals. It's satisfying ambient, with lots of organic muscle present, though without frittering away the ability to float that all music of this nature requires. This sampler, which is a one disc intro to the 4-CD set of "The Seasons Unfold," features selections and alternative versions from that aforementioned release.
