It's always groovy to see old and new play nice. And I do mean groovy. Take some playfully sexy lady vocals and give them a soundscape in which to scamper that fuses sounds both classic and beat-bumping - and you get something such as "Drama," the sophomore album from Bitter:Sweet. Fans of vocal jazz, bossa nova and perky-sultry goodness will find goodies in which to have faith when they listen to this. But so will those who want some electronica to get their bump-and-grind going. Innocent and fun and come-hither and seductive, Bitter:Sweet certainly has chosen well in having a dichotomy of a name! As for the "Drama" bit — well, if by "Drama," you mean something exciting and attention-getting, then, yep! Hearken your ears! Something old, something new. And there are certainly ideas borrowed — and redefined — from various influences. If we but had something blue, there'd be a dance hall wedding in the works. And, of course, a bride and groom. Maybe that hot-sounding chick on the CD is single-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
