THE FREESTYLERS - FABRICLIVE 19 (FABRIC) |
| |

These Fabric mixes come out so damn quick it's easy to let them slip by.
This Freestylers mix, for example, is a few months old now, but not to be
missed. That said, if you're not already picking up the Fabric mixes, well,
why the hell not? Seriously. The series offers plenty genres which should
appeal to a broad range of people - techno, house, downtempo, jungle and in
the case of FabricLive 19, breaks. Oh, gloriously raucous breaks! Even if
you've never considered yourself a breaks fan before, the sheer onslaught of
hooks, MC work and funk that that this mix offers is irresistible. That
insidious penetration factor strikes forth right away with the Deekline and
Wizard remix of the Freestylers own "Boom Blast" and on into the bass bin
rumbling of DJ Mutiny's electrified "Daily Operation." From the peak-time
epic of "Midnight" by Breakfasterz and Napt's "Soul Surviving" to the dark
and dirty scratching on Future Assassins' rasta "Forever" and Ed 209's
ominous bass line on "Infectious," if your head doesn't bop to this mix .
well, you're damn well deaf. The Freestylers even make all things old new
again. Witness the use of the classic anthem by Azzido Da Bass with "Dooms
Night" (Timo Maas mix). Frankly, the tune was played out, but the MC work
laid overtop of it is so huge it alone makes FabricLive 19 worth picking up.
Why are you still reading this guff, anyway? Run to your retailer or click
