Some can make it to Pure Behrouz events when they strike their various locals around the globe. The rest of us must content ourselves with this wonderful 2-disc set. What can I say? House has finally hooked me. And this is my latest fix. Two CDs immerse the listener in the "home game" version of a Behrouz set. His mixing is divine, his track choices mesmerizing. There's so much night air between the components of the textures, yet this hardly feels hollow. Much like atoms are mostly space, yet put together they make solid matter - so this pair of CDs is composed of solid house music. Or something like that. Forgive the analogy, please. Suffice it to say that penetrating hooks grow from the textures herein. God-like grooves rise from the beats. I'm only sorry it had to end. Luckily for CD audiences - unlike live listeners - I can hit play again.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
