THE CELTIC LOUNGE III (SEQUOIA) |
| |

There's no doubting - ancient traditions aside - that this CD is a product of today. The Celts of old would certainly encounter some elements they wouldn't recognize. Of course, they'd also hear the heart of their music at work here too. In other words, "The Celtic Lounge III" is another addition to the swelling canon of tradition remorphed via electronica vision. Though this isn't 100% computer generated sounds. No, traditional instrumentation factors in here, as well. World music and now's sound have made a pretty happy marriage. There are entire labels based on the idea - or at least one that I'm aware of. And other labels put plenty of resources into such things. It may sound like I'm saying "The Celtic Lounge III" is nothing new. Irrelevant! It does what it does very well. The Gordon Brothers have mixed together an eclectic but not disjointed collection of tracks that pay tribute to "the Emerald Isle" and its rich past while forging ahead. This is one to hook you in from beginning to end.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
