VANDAL "TONIGHT WE RIOT" (LOT49) |
| |

Important: Diversity. Variety. Texture. Catchy samples. Groove. Production. Layers. Mood. Energy. To start with. And Vandal? They do start with that. But they don't stop there. Vandal's "Tonight We Riot" is indeed a riot of brilliant house with a touch of the minimalist but with plenty of mainstream dancefloor appeal (if your understanding of mainstream has nothing to do with mere club pop - we're talking house here, and good house at that). Oodles of musical depth and finely tuned texturalism are hallmarks of the talent at work in the psyche of Vandal. Fusing electro, glitch, new wave and even touches of hard-hitting trance into the overall holy-heck-house sound that permeates this disc, Vandal has created a technological marvel of move-your-body mastery. Get up on it, get go, get gone, get moving - cause that's the whole friggin' point.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
