I fear sometimes I'm starting to sound repetitive,
chanting a mantra of "space music, space music, space
music" over and over again. But, dammit, that's what
this music makes me think of. That's why there's a
whole stinkin' genre out there called, ahem, SPACE
MUSIC. Besides, Ayres chose to dub this album
Neptune, so it's fair game as far as I'm concerned.
Dripping with all ambient psychedelia and
otherworldliness, one can just envision himself
floating languidly over the landscape of an alien
world while this music emits from the CD player in the
spaceship console. It‚s amazing how music this
apparantly simple - often just one note or texture
stretched over a length of time - can be as
captivating as it is. But this is some terrific space
music, ideal for total introvertive, metaphysical
chillout. Astounding.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
