DJ
GARTH "REVOLUTIONS IN SOUND"
(GRAVITY)

"...above all else music has the
power to connect people. No effort needed.
It just is." Taken from the liner
notes to DJ Garth’s new mix CD entitled
Revolutions in Sound, this particular
excerpt describes the essence of what
is captured on this mix: a seamless and
diverse musical journey that flows so
fluently from one genuine track to the
next, the listening experience will be
highly rewarding to any fan of good dance
music as there is "no effort needed"
to truly get into this distinguished groove.
Compiled and put together by an accomplished
and seasoned connoisseur of house music,
Garth has crafted a very tight and dynamic
exploration into the many varied sounds
of true underground house music. Anyone
halfway familiar with his music as a dj
and/or producer will immediately recognize
his unique style of delivering cutting
edge music that refuses to be classified
into any one genre. From the sexy and
elegant melodies found in Joshua Collins'
"Never Let Go" to the spacey
percussive Latin beats on Community Recordings'
"Lifted Soul" leading up to
twisted tech-laden acid house found in
"Koncussive" by Nectar, Garth
once again has chosen an eclectic array
of styles here where each track holds
its own distinct voice and story but sequenced
together as only he knows how. Impeccably
mixed from the beginning to the last tune,
the end result is a rich tapestry of assorted
musical sounds that ceaselessly morph
from one track to the next, creating a
very unpredictable yet thoroughly exciting
vibe throughout the entire CD. Considering
that most mix CDs rarely ever offer such
a wide spectrum of music and the ones
that do often sound very forced and mechanical,
Revolutions in Sound is quite an accomplished
piece of work since the entire mix comes
across as being very fluid and organic
in tone, not to mention that you crank
this CD at any gathering where proper
and grooving dance music is required.
