since we got to chat to this firecracker of a DJ, producer and radio star.

who's lead single "Beautiful Day" is exploding on dance charts
and in clubs around the world. She also launched a full-featured website
(you can get lost in the photos section for days!) that caters to her
loyal and large fan base who loves Jackie and her vocal house. If you're
not already, we're sure you'll soon be a fan yourself, once you read Jackie's
quick Q&A by email answers below, and then check out her music!
Raves.com: How'd you come up with the title, and why did you
spell it like that?
Jackie Christie: The name of the album was inspired by instant
messaging; also the vibe of Detroit plus made4U is a tribute to my fans.
What was your role in making the album exactly?
My role was producer, as a producer U you are the one that brings out
the best in the musicians and singers. I also had a co-producer on this
album and he is also one of the singers as well. His name is Shane X.
Conry he is an amazing talent.
Did you collaborate with anyone on it?
It has always been a dream of mine to collaborate with musicians and singers.
So it was my pleasure to work with Dirty Shane, Kraze, Shelia Brody, Discomind
Lady Bunny, Sandy B., Babatunde Lea, and Kevin Jones, Jana Herzen.
How would you describe the music to someone who's never heard it?
The album is a journey through the night, which features Vocal house,
tribal, and melodic trip tunes.
What would be the best thing that could happen to you as a result
of releasing the album... you get a phone call and what does the person
on the other end say?
We would like to donate money to your favorite charity; I would ask
to donate to the world wildlife federation.
How has your music and your career changed since we last interviewed
you over a year ago, aside from this album?
I am ever evolving in my music and my life.
Why should someone go buy it?
Because this album has new songs on it, original words about love, having
a good time and livin your life!

in reverse!)
Richard Branson mega billionaire, the President of Virgin.
Tell us a secret about how you save money.
Well I like to engage myself in living life not shopping on my free days.
Spending time with friends is far more important than standing in a dressing
room tryin' to figure out if my ass looks good in a pair of jeans.
What's the most you've ever paid for a haircut?
I really don't spend a lot of money here cause hairdressers love to play
with my hair. So I say $100, plus tip is the most.

Yes, I like to keep my money in facing the same way and in order. I believe
this will bring me more!

House Music.
How do you know when it's time to break up with someone?
When I can't keep our private stuff to myself, if I feel the need
to talk to someone about our problems than I know it's comin' to an end.
Are you involved romantically with anyone right now?
Yes I have good love in my life!
What would you like to have written on your gravestone?
Geez I haven't gotten that far in my life, but let me make something
up... She laughed, She loved, She was a great Friend! What an awful question!
LOL!
OFFICIAL JACKIE CHRISTIE BIO
"You have two turntables -- use the crossfader to switch between
them. Here is a crate of records, good luck!"
Those were the words that would start a young girl on her incredible
journey into the then unknown world of DJing. Jackie Christie was a mere
16 years old when she first stepped behind the instruments that would
take her around the world -- the infamous two turntables.
Needless to say, Jackie Christie was born to be a DJ. In two short years,
she worked her way from Bar Mitzvahs, private parties, and school dances
to a radio mix show DJ. Noticing her charismatic style in addition to
her fierce mixing skills, Jackie was soon given dual tasks on Detroit's
Power 96 radio station as a DJ and an on air personality. Jackie honed
her craft, working along side techno pioneers such as Kevin Saunderson
of Inner City, Juan Atkins and then unknown Richie Hawtin.
In the early nineties, Jackie left her hometown of Detroit and set her
sites on the home to the worlds best known DJs, New York City. This presented
her with solid daily competition. Undaunted, DJ Jackie Christie employed
her talent, hard work, and perseverance to gain notoriety and made her
New York debut alongside DJ/producer extraordinaire Danny Tenaglia.
Jackie landed her first New York City residency at the famed Limelight.
The venue proved to be the start of an exciting new plateau in her career.
Throughout the nineties, she found herself at the pinnacle of club and
rave DJing, earning her a place in nightlife history as a resident at
some of the most sought-after venues in the country -- from Limelight,
Storm Raves, NASA at The Shelter, the Tunnel, Life and even a featured
spot at the Studio 54 hosted by Bacardi and Details Magazine. Jackie Christie
had made her mark.
With her career firmly grounded in the hottest clubs in New York, Jackie
Christie was ready to conquer the rest of the world. In addition to her
weekly gigs, Jackie began playing in clubs and raves that spanned the
globe. From Mexico to Japan, the girl from Detroit used her exceptional
mix skills to spread her vision of good vibes and music.
In between her global music fair, Jackie Christie caught the attention
of the MTV network. Looking to add more credibility to their program The
Grind, MTV asked Jackie to come on board. Once again, Jackie's earlier
experiences would prove useful. Originally hired as the show's DJ, the
network soon took notice of her poise and broadcasting skills and replaced
their supermodel hosts with the equally camera friendly DJ. Week to week,
as she interviewed many of the DJ's she once aspired to be like.
In the summer of 1997, Jackie Christie released her first single "Bitch"
under the name Shine followed up with "Stimulating and Exciting",
on Groovillicious Records. Other projects include full length mix CD's
for Bacardi "Seize The Night" which features an original production
by Jackie Christie under the moniker 'The Children of Ohm "Night
Flavours"'.
It's an honor for a DJ to have your own mixed CD in the market. Her next
project was the highly successful "Hard and Tasty Beats" on
Nervous Records. Remixes include "R U A DJ" by Kung POW on Extreme
Records and Yoko Ono's "Open your Box" on Mind Train Records.
Following that was "DJ Jackie Christie's Hot and Tasty Beats,"
released by Nervous Records, which includes a compilation of club anthems,
mixed with the energy and expertise that people have regularly come to
expect from this Queen of Clubs.
With weekly residencies at New York's premier club Spa (the hot spot
from the creators of Club Life), the venues acted as a forum in which
Jackie showcase her remarkable gift of mixing. Keeping with her roots
in broadcasting, Jackie spent four days a month in LA taping a radio show
for TheTruth.com which was syndicated in most major urban markets. Along
with DJing, she mixed for a Fujisankei Communications International Production,
"Soulook-Seize The Night". This was a music variety show that
aired in Japan and NYC Cable.
Jackie's status and reputation have also earned her spots spinning at
mega-clubs alongside legends like Sasha, Digweed, Moby, and Carl Cox.
Jackie also headlined the Closing party of Club Universe with Cindy Lauper
in San Francisco.
Today Jackie Christie maintains weekly residences and continues work
on her greatest passions: Music production and the completion of her recording
studio. The dynamic music enthusiast even squeezes in DJing at special
events around the world for clients such as Donnatella Versace, Marc Bouwer,
Bacardi, David LaChapelle, and Swatch.
DJ Jackie Christie has graced the pages of almost every major U.S. dance
music magazine and was the first female DJ on the cover of DJ Times. She
continues to generate national and international press exposure in publications
such as French Vogue, The New York Times, Paper Magazine, The Village
Voice, URB, Vibe, and Time Out. She is even mentioned in Brett Easton
Ellis' book Glamorama.
As DJ Jackie Christie's popularity grows in the USA, so does the demand
for her around the world. Conquering dance floors and traveling to clubs
worldwide, she performs her unique and versatile mixing skills to crowds
as large as 15,000 people.
