Originally ascending from the east coast of the US, Mieka's explorations of house music was originally rooted during the early nineties in NYC. Mieka was instantly turned on to the sounds of early pioneers such as Cajmere and Masters At Work. In 1996 Mieka established Felinephonix to set off various projects that included, underground house events, promotions and DJ management. Her interests in house music naturally lead her hobby for record collecting into her love for mixing. Since then, Mieka has extended her knowledge in music education through formal training at Northeastern University where she majored in Music Industry, The New School in New York City where she studied MIDI, and The Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA where she sharpened her knowledge in recording and studio production. Mieka's recent position as a house buyer for a local record store in Los Angeles has enabled her to lend dedication and support to the global house community. Through extensive research and travel she's been able to fine tune her diverse collection, which has given her an exclusive opportunity to find her desired sound on vinyl. Her preference for house music is nothing less than premiere avant-garde productions, with a focus on superior bass lines that move the ass. Aside from Djing, Mieka is also spending time in the studio along side Canada's DJ/producer, Jay Tripwire lending her skills and voice toward future track releases.	RELATED LINKS felinephonix
