REVOLUTIONS - ARCHIVES
Our former singles reviews and news column, by Editor Shawn Wallace, where he gave the latest Vinyl and CD singles a spin.

March 2004

You know what time is.its time to grab your sunscreen and get ready for a week of non-stop parties under the South Florida sun! Thats right its time for the annual pilgrimage of the dance faithful to sunny Miami for a week of dancing and non-stop partying while listening to some of the latest tracks being spun at any of the numerous venues around the sunshine state dance mecca. For those of you who make it down, this year is even more exciting with two cant miss events on Monday. Be sure to check out the LAID party at the Leslie Hotel during the day while we celebrate in anticipation the Peace, Love & Beats Premiere Party being held that same night at Rumi. For more info about where to find the Raves crew, check out raves.com/events/Miami2004.htm or to learn more about the film, visit peaceloveandbeats.com, for a breakdown of the 50+ DJs in the film and the stunning trailer.

For those of you who wont be making it to Florida, never fear.there is one again an amazing bounty of new tracks sure to get you in the sunshine spirit!

Noel Sanger has a few to look for while your dreaming of sunny beaches, including his hit Carry On (Release) and a remix for Alunas All I Need Is Time (Armada). If you havent heard of them yet, you should have.Infusion have been turning head (and hips) at clubs for months now and recently they have released the appealing Girls Can Be Cruel (AudioTherapy). Admit it, you watch Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, dont you? Well Widelife, the duo behind the smash theme song, have just received an amazing remix from Barry Harris with All Things (Just Keep Getting Better) (Barry Harris Club Interpretation Mix) (Capitol). Nelly Furtado is making her way back into the clubs after a long hiatus on the hells of remixes including Powerless (Say What You Want) (Widelifes Outside Looking In Mix) (DreamWorks)

One of our favorite DL Playmates can be found lending her vocals to the latest release from DJ Demonixx with I Can Feel ItCant You? (feat. DJ Keri) (Hexxmusic). Skyline Records UK is set to release Time, a rolling, slice of vocal electro house that features some deep electro beats and an intensive female vocal. from Gwill Morris with remix treatment from Luke Cable and support from Tiesto, Sasha, Anthony Pappa, James Holden, Pako & Frederik and Andy Morris amongst others. Meanwhile Gwill has just licensed another smash called "Forme" to Lost Language UK for end April 2004 release.

From Mix2Inside records comes My best Thing featuring Joyce Elaine Yuille, a very interesting piece of vinyl containing an incessant rhythm with a power vocal. Contact www.mix2inside.com for more info.

And from our friends at Fade Records, a flurry of releases, including Expressed Soul - I'm Waiting (Mixes by Chris Fortier & Luke Fair); Woven - Solder Me (Mixes by Seed, Ben Camp, Chris Fortier); Chris Micali - L'Evasion & Out There; Micah f/ J. Veda - Come From (Mixes by Micah, Nick & John Dalagelis and Blue Noise); and Motive - A.B.E (Mixes by Motive, Grayarea and Lovesky). Audio samples of these are available at the Fade website www.faderecords.com for your listening pleasure.

Also due this month, Peter Rauhofers recent remixes for the Britney Spears track Toxic and Janet Jacksons Love Me 4 Awhile (Star 69).

Well that is just a taste of what is to come, but our little fingers are itching at what is waiting in the coming weeks. So be sure to check out as we have some surprises for you. And those of you who make it to Miami, when you get back be sure to spread the word about what tracks made it into your crates. Drop us an email at urbpro@raves.com and keep those singles coming to the address below.
